Scientists use green laser pointer to make sodium-ion batteries

According to foreign media reports, the research team of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) recently found a way to make "disordered" graphene, which can improve the formulation of sodium ion batteries.

The anode material graphite, which is commonly used in lithium ion batteries, is inexpensive, but it is difficult to grasp sodium ions larger than lithium ions. In the past, scientists have solved this problem by carbonizing oak leaves or filling the crumpled graphene balls at the anode. To get this disordered graphite called hard carbon, you must let the temperature reach 1000 degrees Celsius. In this regard, the researchers came up with a much simpler way to create disordered graphene using the green laser pointer.

KAUST researchers applied a layer of polyimide and urea to the copper foil and then "carbonized" it into a graphene with a strong green laser pointer. In the process, the researchers also used nitrogen. By using about 13% of nitrogen, 3D graphene which is more conductive, has an increased atomic spacing and can be directly bonded to the copper base is finally obtained.

Experiments, when using this material as the anode of a sodium ion battery, the battery efficiency of the device is higher and the capacity is greater than with a carbon-based anode.

On July 26, 2018, hosted by Shenzhen Baoan District People's Government, Shenzhen Baoan District Economic Promotion Bureau and Shenzhen Logistics and Supply Chain Management Association hosted the 2018 Baoan Industrial Development Expo in Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center.

As a well-known local enterprise in Baoan District, the green laser pointer intelligent equipment has been in the exhibition for three consecutive years since the first Baobo Fair in 2016. This year, the newly developed laser processing system, intelligent inspection equipment, laser welding and automation systems were exhibited, which attracted widespread attention.

According to Yang Yi, manager of the Han family laser industry, "Our precision welding series products are produced according to ISO9001 quality control system, ISO14001 environmental management system and sound enterprise standards and implementation specifications. In the products, processing, assembly, Debugging, shipping and other aspects are strictly controlled to ensure the performance and quality of the factory equipment."
