The laser appeared to be what my project required, but I will have to order another or perhaps something similar. The reason being, and watch out, the wire attachment could use a dose of RTV where the leads meet the case and circuit board. One of my leads broke off, and trying to solder it back in place is a losing proposition. You can't see where to solder it and either solder flowed down into the circuit or the whole unit was over heated by the solder gun.

I mounted it to a sewing machine to determine where the needle would fall (about 4" from laser). Laser dot was too big, so I covered the front with a double layer of aluminum foil, used a needle to create a smaller aperture and it worked perfectly.
